One day you open your eyes and you have two feet in front of you. They could be yours, if you can recall the first time you saw them after you are born and began to awaken to the existence of objects and things. Or they could belong to any child, two feet that are as small and vulnerable as the the body they belong to, which can not yet protect them. What is true of all of these feet is that they eventually learn to stand up and go, one in front of the other, and carry whomever they are forward.
APEX (Android Platform for Experimenters)
Goal: To define and build an Android development platform that simplifies trying out new ideas on Android or exploring its capabilities, without the constraints imposed by a mobile phone environment. This platform would be an ideal "sandbox" for experimenting with wearable computers, robotics, home automation devices, etc. Let your imagination run wild!
Key Features:
- tool chain tailored for iterative/exploratory application design
- access to a rich set of peripherals (UART, I2C, SPI, PWM, ADC, etc.) to easily interface to other devices
So Many Android Devices and So Few Ideas
CES 2010 showed me one important thing: "the box" still owns the field. Even with the potential created by maturing new operating systems and large scale patent cross-license alliances, the field can't come up with anything new. The industry is stuck inside the box of "Computer>Laptop>Tablet>EBook Reader>Handheld>Phone".
Let's get a booth at Maker Faire
Deadline is March 31st. I think this is a good fit:
Introducing Truedat
I'm really dkords ( http://bit.ly/6wereV ) or check out my blog which is botomatically updated ( http://rageagainstthestatusquo.com/blog ) .
Android Makers Sys Admins
The Android Makers community requires some sys admin work from time to time. Members of this group are chartered with helping to implement the systems and processes we need to run the community.
Well, This May Be Ready To Go...
Here's what I did
• I removed the modules from the 18th of November
• I restored then reloaded the module page one by one
• Resolved a schema conflict between the ChaosTools, Data and FeedAPI_mapper modules
• Updated key modules until the profile was as current as it could be while stable
*** There is still a schema inconsistency *** http://androidmakers.com/staging/admin/build/schema/compare It seems benign, but it is also suspect 1 if anything gores wrong with the data or feedAPI modules
• added a new theme
• did some minor css customization
• stayed up all night
• crashed out
Ready or Not..
Everything seems to function and all of the modules you asked for are activated. I think you should move cautiously forward. Keep an eye on this page, bookmark it as the first page to check if you get an error loading: http://androidmakers.com/staging/admin/reports/status
LMK how it goes,
Take Care,
Sid
